The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has dismissed bribery allegations made by Captain Kungu Muigai against judges, calling them baseless and a misleading attempt to discredit the judiciary.

• Captain Muigai filed five petitions on October 11, 2024, seeking the removal of ten judges of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal after they ruled against his companies in ongoing disputes spanning over three decades.
• The JSC, in a meeting on July 30, 2025, found insufficient evidence for removal, stating the judges acted within the law regarding a dispute originating from a Sh23.1 million loan from Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in 1992.
• The Chief Registrar Winfridah Mokaya emphasized that dissatisfaction with court outcomes should be addressed through the appellate process, not the JSC.
