The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco) has named Kipkemoi Kibias as its acting managing director and chief executive officer following the departure of John Mativo.

• Kibias was previously General Manager for System Operation and Power Management at Ketraco.
• John Mativo's tenure as CEO lasted nearly three years, with his confirmation occurring in April 2023.
• The appointment was made by the Ketraco Board in consultation with the Office of the Chief of Staff and the Ministry of Energy.
