The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a public notice reminding businesses and transporters to renew their licences before the December 31 expiry. Affected entities include those operating bonded warehouses, Manufacture Under Bond (MUB) facilities, transit godowns, and transporters of transit goods.
- Renewal applications for businesses must be submitted by October 31 and require documents such as a 2025 licence, valid security bonds, a current CR12 form, a valid lease or title deed, tax compliance certificates for the company and directors, and audited financial statements for 2024.
- Transporters' licences also expire on December 31, and they must submit renewal applications by October 31 with documents including a copy of the motor vehicle logbook, a valid insurance certificate, and a COMESA Yellow card for foreign vehicles.
- A licence fee of Ksh26,000 (USD200) applies to each transporter.
- All applications will undergo a rigorous vetting process, and renewals are not guaranteed if there are unresolved transactions or pending issues with KRA.
