Kenyans traveling to Europe will face new digital border checks starting October 12, 2025, with the phased introduction of the Entry/Exit System (EES). This system will replace manual passport stamping with biometric registration for all non-EU nationals entering the Schengen Area.

• The EES will apply to short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period and is expected to be fully rolled out by April 10, 2026.
• Information collected will include personal details, entry/exit dates, and biometric data such as fingerprints and facial features, with passport control officers handling most of the data collection.
• The new system will help the EU track overstays and strengthen border management, recording whether a traveler is allowed or refused entry.
