• CS Ogamba's remarks were supported by Principal Secretary for Basic Education Dr. Julius Bitok, who acknowledged Kilifi's unique challenges impacting education.
• In May, the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) opposed a government proposal to review 44 hardship zones, threatening legal action to protect teachers' allowances.
