Mogadishu City Football Club has issued a formal apology to Kenya after a video went viral showing two of their supporters desecrating the Kenyan national flag following a CAF Champions League match against Kenya Police FC at Nyayo National Stadium.

• The club "strongly condemn[ed] this act" and distanced themselves from the fans, urging "appropriate action by the Kenyan authorities" against those involved.
• The incidents, captured in two videos, showed fans kicking and trampling the flag, and another grabbing a flag from a Kenya Police FC fan and tossing it to the ground.
• The FKF Premier League champions, Kenya Police FC, won the first-leg fixture 3-1, with the second leg also scheduled to take place in Kenya.
• Kenyan law prohibits actions such as flying the flag on private vehicles, or displaying it disrespectfully, when torn, faded, or dirty.
