• Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot accused Wahome of contempt, noting her letter arrived at 7 PM the night before the morning session, and vowed to raise the issue with the President due to recurring absenteeism by Cabinet Secretaries.
• Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who was to table two of the questions, highlighted the urgency of addressing land grabbing, calling Wahome's travel excuse "contemptuous."
