The National Integrity Alliance (NIA) has urged Parliament and the Judiciary to address the rising attacks on journalists and whistleblowers, demanding the swift passage of the Whistleblower Protection Bill. They also condemned the "weaponisation of the Judiciary" through frivolous lawsuits aimed at silencing critics.

• The Whistleblower Protection Bill proposes that whistleblowers receive 10 per cent of recovered ill-gotten gains.
• The NIA is comprised of various human rights groups, including the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC).
• The NIA cited the case of Standard Group journalist Collins Kweyu, who was arrested over a story linking a judge to a Ksh10 million bribe claim.
