Veteran broadcast journalist Zubeidah Kananu Koome has announced her departure from KTN after an 18-year tenure to pursue a new chapter in her career. She made the announcement on Thursday, September 25, 2025, thanking Standard Media Group for the invaluable experience gained.

• Zubeidah Koome joined KTN in 2007 as an intern, securing a formal employment contract in 2009.
• She will continue serving as the president of the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG), a role she was first elected to in May 2023 and re-elected for in May 2025.
• During her time at KTN, Koome anchored various shows, including Jukwaa la KTN, Kioo cha Hoja, and Dira ya Wiki.
