A student from Chuka University, John Tingoi, has achieved global recognition by securing a spot in the finals of the International Quant Championship (IQC) 2025. He outperformed nearly 89,000 participants worldwide in the quantitative finance modelling competition.

John Tingoi, from Chuka University's Faculty of Science and Technology, topped 9,000 participants in Kenya and close to 80,000 internationally.
He will represent Kenya in the finals in Singapore on September 29 and September 30, as one of the 12 global finalists.
The competition offers cash prizes, with international winners receiving up to Ksh2.6 million ($20,000), and employment consideration.
