The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested four law enforcement officers suspected of operating an illegal arms trade. The arrests followed extensive investigations into their involvement in trafficking firearms and ammunition.

• The arrested officers include an assistant superintendent prisons officer, two constables, and a corporal.
• The breakthrough occurred on Saturday, September 27, when the corporal was caught receiving 1,000 rounds of ammunition from the two constables.
• The two constables work at the central firearms stores in Industrial Area, Nairobi, while the corporal is based at the Turkana Police Headquarters.
• Detectives discovered 19 assorted firearm magazines, firing pins, cleaning kits, and three spent 9mm cartridges, along with a Remington Rand Model 1911 pistol and two Ceska pistol firing pins.
