The High Court in Eldoret has dismissed a contested will in the succession case of colonial-era paramount Chief Kibor Arap Talai, who died in 2012. His second wife, Irene Jeptanui Talai, had used the will to claim a significant portion of his Ksh.3 billion estate.

• A forensic document examination in November 2024 concluded that the signatures on the will did not match authentic signatures of the deceased.
• Justice Reuben Nyakundi declared the purported will, dated February 13, 2006, null and void.
• The case was initiated by Talai's first wife, Tapyotin Kibor, who passed away six years ago.
