Denmark has announced a nationwide ban on all civilian drone flights from Monday, September 29th, to Friday, October 3rd, to ensure security during an upcoming European Union (EU) leaders' meeting in Copenhagen.

• The temporary ban, effective for 5 days, aims to prevent confusion between legal drone activities and potential threats, reducing the burden on police due to a recent surge in suspicious drone sightings.
• The ban was announced by Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen and coincides with an informal EU heads of state or government meeting on October 1st, focusing on European defense and support for Ukraine.
• Violations of the ban can lead to fines or up to two years’ imprisonment, with only urgent tasks of public importance, as well as military, police, and other emergency services, being exempt.
