Kenya has launched its first plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) pickup truck, the BYD Shark 6, introduced by CFAO Mobility Kenya. To make the Ksh 10.7 million vehicle more accessible, CFAO's leasing arm, Loxea, has partnered with NCBA Bank to offer a dedicated financing package, a first for EVs in the country.

• Customers can receive up to 90% financing on the vehicle, with repayment options extending up to five years (60 months).
• The BYD Shark 6 combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with electric motors, boasting a claimed fuel efficiency of 2.0 liters per 100 kilometers when the battery is charged.
• The truck offers a total range of up to 650km and comes with an eight-year or 200,000 km warranty on its battery pack.
• NCBA’s Group Director of Asset Finance & Business Solutions, Lennox Mugambi, stated the collaboration aims to promote greener transportation.
