• MOFA, who finished seventh last season, started strong by defeating Nairobi City Stars 1-0, highlighting their ambition to contend for promotion.
• Other results included Migori Youth beating Mwatate United 1-0, and Naivas defeating newcomers Fortune Sacco 1-0, while former Premier League side FC Talanta secured a 1-0 away win against Kibera Blackstars.
