A male nurse in Bungoma has been arrested on allegations of raping a Form Three student who was admitted to a private facility for wound dressing and malaria treatment. The suspect was reportedly caught in the act by a colleague.

• The suspect, Martin Wekesa, is 30-years-old and reportedly acknowledged the incident to the facility’s management.
• The victim's family, represented by mother Peninah Barasa, alleges a cover-up by the facility, claiming the minor was forced to bathe after the assault to conceal evidence.
• Bungoma South Police Commander William Letting confirmed the arrest and warned against the rising cases of defilement in the area, emphasizing that offenders will be dealt with accordingly.
