Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale met with faith-based organizations to solidify their collaboration on the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA). The meeting established an agreement to enhance service delivery and promote the new health insurance scheme across Kenya.
- SHA has onboarded over 25 million Kenyans and paid Ksh10 billion for Primary Health Care and Ksh59.3 billion for Social Health Insurance Funds.
- The Ministry of Health will allocate relationship managers for all public, faith-based, and private hospitals and address pending SHA claims on a first-in-first-out basis.
- Faith-based organizations will submit a list of needy remote facilities for digitization support and establish registration desks in churches and mosques to sensitize members about SHA benefits.
- The Ministry also requested Ksh5.4 billion from the National Treasury to settle legacy NHIF debt below Ksh10 million.
