Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the transition of the Haiti security mission from the Kenya-led Multinational Security Support (MSS) to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF). This move signifies a pivotal shift towards restoring peace in the war-torn Caribbean nation.

• Approximately 800 police officers from Kenya were deployed under the MSS, with three officers having lost their lives during the mission.
• The new mission, the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), is backed by the United States, Panama, other member states, and Caribbean countries.
• The GSF will operate under an initial 12-month mandate, collaborating with the Haitian National Police (HNP) and Haitian Armed Forces (HAF) to neutralize gangs and provide security.
