Denmark's tax authority, Skatteforvaltningen (Skat), lost a £1.4 billion tax fraud claim in the High Court in London. The case involved alleged fraud from "cum-ex schemes" where Skat claimed huge sums were falsely Tclaimed in tax rebates.

• The claim, one of the highest value civil cases in the UK, alleged deceit in tax refund payments.
• The central defendant was defunct hedge fund Solo Capital Partners, run by Sanjay Shah, who was jailed in Denmark last year.
• The judge, Mr Justice Andrew Baker, ruled that Skat was not misled and their controls were "almost non-existent" for assessing refund claims.
• Skat is appealing the decision that concluded an eight-year legal process.
