Abraham Isaiah Ayaya, the ODM nominated candidate for Kisa East ward, has declined his nomination for the upcoming November 27 by-election and defected to the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

• Ayaya stated that ODM issued him a nomination certificate on September 1 before he had concluded his decision.
• He is a lifelong member of DAP-K, and his name had already been forwarded to them.
• The Kisa East ward seat became vacant after former MCA Stephen Maloba was tragically stabbed to death in 2023 during a political event.
