Russia has publicly "corrected" Kenya's assertion that the recent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution to establish a new Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Haiti was adopted unanimously. Moscow's Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, highlighted that Russia, China, and Pakistan abstained from the vote.

• The resolution, officially Resolution 2793 (2025), passed with 12 votes in favor and 3 abstentions.
• Kenya's Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary, Korir Sing'oei, had initially hailed the adoption as "unanimous."
• Russia expressed concerns about the new mission being "highly dangerous and poorly thought-out," and similar to the "underfunded" outgoing Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission.
