Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops serving with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) were awarded UN Service Medals for their distinguished service during a one-year deployment.

Personnel from Kenya Signals Company 3 (KENSIG 3) received medals on October 2 in Goma.
Vivian van de Perre, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG), and Deputy Force Commander Major General Khar Diouf presided over the ceremony.
Achievements included installing CCTV systems in Goma, Beni, and Bunia, and supporting the Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar project.
