President William Ruto has waived the national ID replacement fee until after the next elections to facilitate voter registration. He announced this measure during the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) centenary celebrations in Nyang'ori, Vihiga County.
- The fee waiver aims to ensure no citizen is denied the opportunity to register as a voter due to lacking an identification card.
- President Ruto also announced the establishment of an Infrastructure Fund and a Sovereign Wealth Fund to boost Kenya’s economic transformation.
- The Infrastructure Fund will support agriculture, industrialisation, and generate additional power, aiming for 10,000MW from the current 2,300MW.
- Additionally, President Ruto warned health facilities against charging for outpatient services already covered by the government and confirmed KSh3.7 billion has been disbursed to pay Social Health Authority premiums for 2.5 million vulnerable Kenyans.
