After a 9-year wait, Steven Nzomo, a qualified teacher since 2013, finally secured a job with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) thanks to a new digitized recruitment system implemented under President William Ruto's administration.

The TSC has hired 76,000 teachers in the last two and a half years, a number that would have taken 20 years under the previous system.
The new digital system allows every trained teacher direct access to recruitment opportunities, promoting transparency and effectiveness, according to TSC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Evalyne Mitei.
President Ruto announced plans to hire an additional 24,000 teachers by January and has doubled funding for teacher promotions from Ksh 1 billion to Ksh 2 billion annually.
