The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recently conducted an operational readiness assessment of its troops deployed in Somalia under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission (AUSSOM). This evaluation ensures compliance with legal, policy, and ethical standards.

• The assessment was led by Chief of Inspectorate at the Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Lawrence Ntoyai.
• The mission was conducted across all KDF bases under AUSSOM.
• AUSSOM came into effect on January 1, 2025, replacing ATMIS, and is mandated to support Somalia's stabilization and security.
