Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu will face a treason trial on Monday, weeks before national elections from which his party has been barred. Lissu, who came in second in the 2020 presidential poll, was arrested in April for allegedly inciting rebellion, charges his lawyer claims are politically motivated.
