Airtel Kenya is providing free access to the Kenya Education Cloud and Elimika digital learning platforms for teachers in Kenya in observance of World Teachers’ Day. This initiative, part of a $57 million partnership with UNICEF, aims to empower digital learning across the continent.
- The Airtel Africa and UNICEF partnership currently supports 141 public primary schools in Kenya by providing 300 GB of data monthly.
- The initiative addresses the uneven digital access in Kenya, where only about 10.7 per cent of households own a computer and just 23.8 per cent have reliable internet.
- The Kenya Education Cloud offers resources from pre-primary to Grade 9, supporting the new Competency Based Education, while Elimika provides professional development for teachers.
