Mental health services will now be covered under government insurance benefits through the Social Health Authority (SHA), as announced by Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale. This marks the first time mental health is included in the national insurance benefits package, aligning with the Mental Health Act, 2023, and the Kenya Mental Health Policy.
