The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) has condemned the "mistreatment, unceremonious removal and unjust arrest" of Chief Executive Officers in public institutions, warning against political interference.

• IEK President Eng. Shammah Kiteme stated that frequent arrests of CEOs disregard due process and fairness.
• The IEK highlighted the case of Eng. Samuel Oruma, formerly of the Central Rift Valley Water Agency, who was forced to resign despite being cleared by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
• The body demanded five actions, including transparent investigations, reinstatement of cleared engineers, and an end to arrests outside working hours, to protect engineers who are the "backbone of Kenya’s socio-economic development."
