A Jordanian court sentenced nine people to prison for "terrorism" in a case linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, with terms ranging from three to 15 years. This follows the kingdom's decision to ban the activities of the transnational Islamist movement in April.

• Two individuals received 15 years of hard labour for making missiles.
• The Muslim Brotherhood's Jordan branch, founded in 1945, was dissolved by a court ruling in 2020 but continued to operate until the recent ban.
• The Brotherhood's political wing, the Islamic Action Front, is Jordan's main opposition party, holding 31 out of 138 seats in the 2024 elections.
