The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in partnership with the European Union, has provided Kisii and Nyamira counties with state-of-the-art Geospatial Information Labs. These labs aim to combat land fraud, enhance land governance, and improve county planning and environmental management.

• Each lab, valued at KSh 30 million, features advanced mapping and satellite data systems.
• Hamisi Williams, FAO Deputy Country Representative, emphasized that these labs will enhance transparency in land transactions and support data-driven development, with plans to cover all 47 counties.
• Kisii Governor Simba Arati highlighted the lab's role in addressing land irregularities, monitoring construction, boosting revenue, and integrating biometric systems to track county employees for accountability.
