The United States has escalated its sanctions against Iran's oil sector, targeting dozens of individuals, companies, and ships linked to facilitating the country's oil exports, including a Chinese port and refinery.

• Over 50 targets were announced by the Treasury Department, primarily aimed at those involved in shipping liquified petroleum gas.
• The sanctions also hit around 40 others, identified by the US State Department as "some of the largest buyers of Iranian petrochemical products."
• The penalized entities include Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group Co., a China-based refinery accused of purchasing millions of barrels of Iranian oil since 2023.
