The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Anti-Narcotics Unit destroyed a large consignment of precursor chemicals for manufacturing narcotic drugs on Thursday, October 9. These chemicals were seized in Namanga following a sting operation that dismantled a transnational drug trafficking network.

• The destruction took place at the East African Portland Cement plant in Athi River, Machakos County.
• Bernard Walumoli, Director Planning at the DCI, reaffirmed the commitment to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
• The operation was a collaborative effort involving the Judiciary, ODPP, Government Chemist, NEMA, and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
