The Kenyan Catholic Church has introduced a new, exclusive brand of altar wine for Holy Mass after the previous one became widely available in local bars. This new sacramental drink is certified by the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and will not be sold in commercial outlets.

• The new wine, sourced from South Africa, was officially introduced at this year’s National Prayer Day in Subukia National Marian Shrine.
• Archbishop of Nyeri Anthony Muheria stated the new wine is imported and owned by the KCCB, ensuring its purity from the source.
• Approximately 10 million Catholics, representing about 20% of Kenya's population, are affected by this change, reflecting the importance of preserving the sanctity of the Eucharist.
