Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has strongly criticized former CS Justin Muturi's proposal to abolish NG-CDF bursaries, defending the scheme as crucial for vulnerable households.

Ruku emphasized that during his two-year tenure as Mbeere North MP, "every student who applied for NG-CDF bursary support received assistance."
He urged voters in the upcoming Mbeere North parliamentary by-election to reject Newton Karish and support UDA's Leonard Wamuthende.
The Cabinet Secretary also used Mazingira Day celebrations at Gituburi Primary School to advocate for tree planting and environmental conservation, aligning with the President's target of 15 billion trees.
