Jihadists linked to Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked a Nigerian army base in Ngamdu village with grenades and drones, killing up to 7 soldiers. The attack prompted the temporary closure of the highway linking Maiduguri and Damaturu as explosives were defused.

• The attack occurred early Friday, 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
• Four military vehicles were destroyed, and the Nigerian army claimed four troops were killed and the attackers were repelled.
