The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has addressed public concerns regarding the granting of immunity and privileges to the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA), a Dutch NGO, denying claims of external pressure and asserting adherence to due process.

• Principal Secretary Korir Sing'oei stated that the agreement followed procedures outlined in the Privileges and Immunities Act, after receiving a request from GCA on July 27, 2025.
• The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs signed Legal Notice No. 82 on April 20, 2025, granting the privileges, which Parliament later ratified on September 30, 2025.
• Sing'oei emphasized that these privileges are not unique, with over 170 other non-state entities having received similar concessions in Kenya since 1984, including tax exemptions and protection from legal suits for good faith actions.
