The family of missing security analyst Mwenda Mbijiwe has petitioned the Milimani High Court, four years after his disappearance, demanding the government produce him “dead or alive” or release him from alleged unlawful custody.

• Jane Gatwiri M’Ithinji, Mbijiwe’s mother, filed an urgent application against the Inspector General of Police and Director of Criminal Investigations.
• Mbijiwe, a former Kenya Air Force officer, was reportedly abducted on June 12, 2021, near Roysambu, Nairobi, by plainclothes officers in an unmarked vehicle.
• The family argues his continued disappearance violates his constitutional rights and describes his detention as "illegal, irregular, and unlawful."
