The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased its global economic growth forecast for 2025 to 3.2 percent, an increase of 0.2 percentage point from its July projection.

• The IMF’s World Economic Outlook report projects advanced economies to grow by 1.6 percent in 2025, and emerging markets by 4.2 percent.
• IMF chief economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas noted that the impact of U.S. tariffs has been "smaller than expected so far," but trade tensions persist.
• The report also forecasts a 3.1 percent global growth for 2026, while highlighting risks such as tariff shocks and a projected slowdown in the latter half of the current year.
