Russian air attacks have severely impacted Ukraine's gas sector, forcing Kyiv to suspend operations at several major gas facilities and significantly increasing its need for gas imports. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported over 300 drones and 37 missiles were used in Thursday's overnight attacks targeting infrastructure.

Ukraine will need to import at least 6.3 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas for the 2025/26 winter season.
CEO Sergii Koretskyi of Naftogaz confirmed six major attacks on gas facilities this month alone.
Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed a "massive strike" on Ukrainian gas infrastructure, alleging its use to support Kyiv's military.
