Following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at age 80, a State funeral was held at Nyayo Stadium. At the event, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka accused the government of sidelining the opposition by not formally recognizing them to speak. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was also conspicuously absent from the State function. Prior to the funeral, an anticipated public viewing of Odinga's body at Parliament was unexpectedly canceled.
