Kenya Airways (KQ) has increased its flight frequency to Kisumu and upgraded several flights to larger Boeing 737 aircraft following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, whose burial preparations are underway in Siaya County.

• KQ announced extra flights were added for the weekend, with specific flight numbers and times, including KQ656, KQ658, KQ650, KQ654, KQ671, and KQ670 operating between Friday, October 17, and Monday.
• The increased demand for travel to Kisumu is directly linked to the upcoming burial of Raila Odinga, whose body will be airlifted to Kisumu on Saturday morning from Lee Funeral Home.
• Preparations for the burial program are currently ongoing at Odinga's home in Opoda, Siaya County, ahead of the scheduled events on Sunday.
