Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been posthumously awarded Kenya’s highest civilian honour, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (C.G.H.), by President William Ruto.

The award was conferred through a Gazette Notice dated October 20, 2025, just days after Odinga's passing on October 15.
President Ruto praised Odinga as a "statesman of rare moral courage, a visionary patriot, a unifier of the people and a champion of justice."
The honour was also officially announced during Mashujaa Day celebrations.
