Police in Bondo, Siaya County, are investigating a security breach at the funeral of the late Raila Amolo Odinga where a firearm was snatched from a GSU officer. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, involved a mourner who fled into the crowd with the stolen weapon.

• A pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition was stolen.
• The GSU officer, Constable Benson Kodia Olayo, was attached to the VIP Protection Unit for Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa.
• The theft happened as Governor Barasa's vehicle was swarmed by "rowdy youth" at the main gate of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST).
