President William Ruto has posthumously awarded former Prime Minister Raila Odinga Kenya’s highest honour, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H). The conferment occurred on Mashujaa Day, October 20, 2025, recognizing Odinga's contributions to democracy, governance, and Pan-Africanism.

• Raila Odinga was recognized for his exemplified courage, endurance, dedication, unwavering commitment to the ideals of democracy and good governance, sacrifice, Pan-Africanism and faithful service to all of humanity.

• The honour was conferred by President William Ruto at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui.

• The award comes a day after Odinga's burial at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County, following his death on October 15, 2025, in Kerala, India.
