Francis Kioni won the recently restored Rift Valley Matchplay Championship at Nakuru Golf Club, marking a significant return for the 95-year-old event. The championship was part of the Mashujaa Charity Shield Golf Tournament, which raised over Sh660,000 for the Love and Hope Center.

• Kioni described his final match against Esto Gentral as "intense and challenging," securing his victory after three months of competition involving 148 golfers.
• The tournament also recognized division winners including Sarat Singh (Division One), Mathew Maiyo (Division Two Men), and Linda Munyao (Ladies' Division).
• Separately, golfers at the Nyali Golf and Country Club observed a minute of silence for the late Raila Odinga during the Kirima Golf Tournament.
• Andrew Miheso was the overall winner at the Kirima Golf Tournament with 44 points, dedicating his win to Raila Odinga.
