Kisii Governor Simba Arati, also the Deputy Party Leader of ODM, has invited President William Ruto to rejoin the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Arati promised Ruto the party's presidential ticket for the 2027 General Election if he returned.

• Arati stated that if President Ruto rejoined ODM, he would be the party's flag bearer in 2027.
• The proposal was made at Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kisii on October 20, 2025.
• Arati reaffirmed ODM's commitment to upholding the ideals of the late Raila Odinga and expressed confidence the party would form the next government.
