On Monday, October 20, 2025, Medical Services Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga and his wife, Mercy Jelimo, visited the gravesite of the late Raila Odinga, laying a wreath to honor him the day after his burial. This visit coincided with Mashujaa Day celebrations, where Odinga was posthumously awarded Kenya’s highest honor.

• Raila Odinga was posthumously awarded the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H), Kenya's highest honor, by President William Ruto.
• Former President Uhuru Kenyatta also visited Raila Odinga’s gravesite on Monday, accompanied by Raila’s elder brother Oburu Oginga.
• Raila Odinga was laid to rest on Sunday in a televised state funeral next to his late father, Jaramogi Oginga, and was highly regarded as the father of democracy in Kenya.
