The Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind (MTIB) has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to inclusivity and advancing women in STEM during a gala held in Nairobi. The institute was among 14 top Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions honored for championing innovation and equitable technical training.

• The MTIB won the Women in STEM and Inclusivity Award, with Chief Principal Nduku Mutua emphasizing their commitment to empowering women and persons with disabilities.
• The recognition was part of the Dual TVET Mid-Term Project Review and Recognition Gala, celebrating institutions implementing a dual training model that merges classroom instruction with industry-based learning.
• The Dual TVET Programme is jointly funded by the Governments of Finland and Germany with technical support from GIZ.
