Standard Group journalist Rosa Agutu has won the television and overall Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa (OFAB-Kenya) Media Awards, 2025, for her excellence in science and innovation reporting in Africa. The award recognizes her impactful storytelling in promoting scientific understanding.

• Dr. Margaret Karembu, Director of ISAAA-AfriCenter and Chair of OFAB-Kenya, lauded the media's role in promoting scientific understanding and the adoption of biotech crops in Kenya, such as the approval of biotech cotton in 2019.
• The 2025 OFAB Media Awards introduced a digital media category, reflecting the growing influence of digital communication. Judges evaluated entries based on scientific accuracy, originality, clarity, and contribution to public understanding.
